What is this angry macabre dance about the Facebook Graph Search?
Over the last few days, there has been these new Facebook status updates making rounds on my friends, families and even my ‘assumed’ and ‘presumed’ enemy’s Facebook Timeline about the newly implemented and well-engineered Facebook Social Graph Search.
Many people are already smelling rats even when they live in the virtual reality World where there are no provision for rats. – Ask Mr. Google, Mr. Bing and Ms. Yahoo, they will tell you that common sense should have warned you that as far as you type and post anything (whatsoever) on the internet, it will someday appear on a search result.
Yes I said virtually ANY and Everything you type or post over the internet could someday appear on a search result, even those ones behind a firewall or behind a log-in! – Yes take it from me.
How Safe is the Facebook Graph Search?
The guys at Google, Bing, Yahoo, AltaVista, Facebook etc. do not in any way have a personal ‘unauthorized’ access to your accounts or search history, to snoop around and know what you have been up to behind the keyboards, but trust me, there are other of their ’employees’ whose job description is to snoop around every single data inputted into the network of computers on the internet, to aggregate information.

Yes these ’employees’ are known as spiders or web crawlers or web bots. These are powerful computer programs that twirls through every single letter of the alphabet or phrase that you type and publish on the web.
And to make their work easier, Web Developers and site owners grant them access to some or all the data behind a log-in. This is a good method to up their Search Results and a great Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Technique.
Now if you don’t want your Facebook posts, Facebook wall or Facebook TimeLine posts, photos, etc. to appear on a search result somewhere far away from your computer, you have some options:
Chose the following Options to be free from the Facebook Graph Search.
- Facebook Graph Search Option 1
- Facebook Graph Search Option 2
- Facebook Graph Search Option 3
If the above was useful to you, why not share it with your friends?
