My Writer’s Block is back again. I cannot bring myself to write. Nope! I haven’t been able to do any non-work related write-up in months but I have managed to discover a whole new interest, which is the International Policy/Politics of the Middle East.
Now that is beyond fascinating. If you think that Nigeria is out of whack, then you have not read about that Region.
This Writer’s Block!
Phew! Back to the core of my message, I woke up to finish up a report that is due today but the words are not flowing as well as they should and so my mind went wandering as Al-Jazeera Tv isn’t doing it for me either.
I thought about Yemen and then Syria and then the Zawadi people of the Niger Republic and then out of nowhere, I began to think of Insurance Policies.
Now you would ask, what da heck is wrong with your head Ijeoma ojumobi Nwamuo? To that I would say, if I knew, do you think that I would be thinking aloud? Hahahaha.
Oh well, I think that the issue of Life Insurance popped into my head because I thought about the numerous news stories of senseless deaths that occur in the world, like Nigeria in particular. People just die because they are in the wrong place at the wrong time or simply because of the people that are around them who constitute what the Insurance companies will describe as high risk factors.
Just like if one were a smoker, there is a high probability that his or her insurance premium would be higher than that of a non-smoker, simply because the Insurance Company thinks that he/she would be more susceptible to ill health.
So, one would think that if another were in business with people who are ‘high risk factors’ and very likely to cause them harm, knowingly or unknowingly, by the insurance industry standard one would be better off buying a long term disability insurance for one’s protection well in advance.
This is because, if that harm were to happen eventually, at least one is covered/financially protected, and if not, at least you made a smart business decision to protect against a potential risk. I would think that even God would understand if we took a little more step to do that in addition to our limitless faith in His ability protect us against harm because faith without work is dead.
….. Oh well, this is just a thought in my head and if it does not make sense, just ignore it because I am one woman that has learnt to reduce everything to statistical analysis/to a business decision, because with pure science, there are no shades of grey and so you know what you are dealing with and so if buying an insurance is one way to be a little more certain about your protection, I say go for it.
Hahahahahhaa. (OMG! It is coming back; I mean I have managed to unblock my writer’s block, yet again. Hahahahahha). See you later!
