My dear Super Eagles, We have approached that moment when I usually deem it necessary to write you a personal letter. Unlike previously, this time, I have ensured that you will at least hear what I wrote. This has been made possible by a source close to you. For that, I am grateful.

First, let me commend all of you – Super Eagles for the improvements you have recorded in your various clubs. A good number of you have scored very precious goals in various leagues in Europe and back home. Worthy of commendation is the goal scored by Mikel Obi 2 weeks ago. This shows that with dedication, perseverance and hardwork, you can achieve any thing.

As you (Super Eagles) have all gathered in Abuja to prepare for the final phase of the World Cup qualifiers, I must tell you that I have never been so confident of a Nigerian team. In the last one year, you have not caused us any heart break neither have you made us to have cause to regret ever associating ourselves with you. You have always risen up to all occasions. Your football artistry as a team has much improved. Suffice it to say that we are very happy with you.

Super Eagles and the Antelopes of Ethiopia

My dear Super Eagles, the Antelopes of Ethiopia are your next and indeed final opponents. Ordinarily we should not loose sleep over Ethiopia in football matters. But, all those have changed now. The news emanating from Addis Ababa is also a serious cause of worry and concern. The Ethiopians have sworn to die on the pitch than to loose that game. Their government is also not taking the game for granted. In fact, the plan is to win the game by all means necessary.

It is therefore your responsibility as the  Super Eagles to approach the Saturday game with great care and caution. I know that the technical crew are on top of this issue. Remember that we all expect to see you play in Brazil next year. To achieve this, you (Super Eagles) must beat Ethiopia.

As usual we assure you of our unalloyed support as you match out to crush the opposition. My dear  Super Eagles, Our prayers are assured.

  1. Yest another commendable article by Dr. Ikechi Gbenimacho.

It is up to players to do their best and not to let all the efforts of Steven Keshi and his crew go wasted.

I believe we can be in Brazil, so lets get behind our Team and wish them well.
