The 14 Brigade of the Nigerian Army at Ohafia has smashed one of the major kidnap syndicates that has been terrorizing the people of Aba for several months now.

The Kidnap Syndicate was smashed at their hideout somewhere in Nkporo, Ohafia local government area of Abia State last Sunday April 10, 2016.

In a statement signed by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, men of the Nigerian Army working in cahoots with other security agencies and the Abia State Government have been gathering top grade intelligence report on the modus operandi of this syndicate.
This group has its base in Nkporo and then operates in Aba from there.

Last week, precisely on the 6th of April, 2016, the Kidnap Syndicate shot and abducted a man in Aba.

In a well coordinated mission, the Army struck at the hideout of the Kidnap Syndicate and successfully arrested the leader of the gang, one Mr. Chidiebere Sunday. Two other members of the gang escaped while the 4th member, in a bid to escape from the roof of their hideout, fell from the roof, smashed his head on the floor and died instantly.

The officers successfully rescued the kidnap victim who is currently receiving medical treatment while the State government makes efforts to reunite him with his family.

See the full complement of pictures released by the Army. The man apprehended is the leader of the gang while the one on red dress is a picture of the one whose head was smashed.

The identity of the rescued victim cannot be made public for security reasons.

We thank the Nigerian Army for this feat, for heeding the call of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to help flush criminals out of the state.

For the others who still engage in this, your Waterloo is dangerously close.
